My artistic process begins with exploring our local trails and beaches, either walking my dog or riding my bike. Back in my light-filled studio, which is right on the bike trail in West Rehoboth, it is an inspired joy to translate these experiences into paintings. I often work from photos I’ve taken, but sometimes I let the composition develop freely without a reference. My work focuses on capturing light, shadow, and perspective to draw viewers into the scene and evoke emotion. Regardless of whether the palette is vivid, serene or moody, if the piece is textured or smooth, my signature gestural brushstrokes and connection to local natural beauty are always present.
